Hi, I'm Jon.

When on holiday I would like to:

meet local people
find out the history
eat good food

So this is what I’m doing for my local area, taking the pressure off your decision-making by providing this experience!

Come and discover my home with me! I love history and nature, working outdoors all my life. On the tours we will discuss everything we see, along with interesting facts and information.

I have created three tours, all starting in my village, West Chiltington. We will meet at 8:30am, starting the tour, where you can either pick me up or follow me in separate vehicles to our first location. The tours will differ but my aim is to have each tour finish around 12:30pm where we will then go to a local pub.

Water is provided throughout. At the final destination we can either conclude the tour or we can visit the local pub and eat and drink together (food and drinks not included).

About transport

On the right is my ex-army Land Rover. If you choose to do a 'follow-me' tour, this is the vehicle I will be in.

Due to legal reasons, unfortunately I cannot take paying customers in the Land Rover.

However, you can pick me up in your own vehicle if you would prefer consistent live commentary!

Accessibility

Please note that due to the tours involving historic buildings, lots of walking, and navigating uneven/muddy terrain — they may not be suitable for individuals with limited mobility or certain health conditions.

Toilets are few and far between!

We encourage all participants to use their own discretion when deciding if the tour is appropriate for them. If you have any questions about accessibility, do not hesitate to contact us.

My mission is to show people British history that we take for granted. Century old churches are being vandalised, iconic phone boxes are left in disrepair, and many ancient sites are overlooked. We need to use them and look after them so we don't lose them!

I would also like to teach people about the joy - and danger - of nature. On the tours we will discuss plants of interest, including poisonous plants to avoid. We will cover some animal and insect behaviour, the geology of the area, as well as general local knowledge.
